Senior Risk Analyst

ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Risk Analyst serves as the primary point of contact between project teams and Risk Management regarding trade partner selection.  The Senior Risk Analyst will scrutinize trade partner prequalification and project information to evaluate the overall risk profile and recommend risk mitigation strategies that either correspond to the company's appetite for risk or maximize reward per unit of assumed risk. In addition, the Senior Risk Analyst will analyze risk-assessment models or methodologies. This position will produce reports that explain the risk positions and recommend improvements. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES - CORE

RISK ANALYST FAMILY - CORE

• Communicates with operations teams regarding trade partner selection and overall project risk to prevent and mitigate trade partner financial default.
• Analyzes financial and other data to assess risk of doing business with a specific trade partner. Meets with trade partners and discusses their current financial and performance status. Develops and coordinates strategies to mitigate trade partner default risk.
• Maintains relationships with regional project teams and leadership and provides periodic reporting and analysis on trade partner risk and industry trends.
• Proactively monitors and interprets ongoing financial performance and responds appropriately.
• Negotiates security requirements for mitigating risk with trade partners to minimize risk exposure.
• Supports project teams with trade partner analysis prior to and during hard-bids.
• Confers with third parties including risk engineers, professional associations, banks, and sureties to develop best practices and increase business intelligence.
• Continuously improves workflow and technology of risk systems to internal and external parties.

In addition, this role will be responsible for the following:

• Leads projects to produce reports or presentations that explain risk positions or recommend improvements to policies/procedures.
• Understands the company business plan and creates risk management strategies to achieve financial goals.
• Critically assesses risk-assessment models or methodologies.
• Monitors the function of risk monitoring systems and looks for ways to streamline and improve the system. Plans and contributes to development of risk management systems.
• Maintains input or data quality of risk management systems.
• Ensures service coverage and manages priorities using organizational methodologies and monitoring forecasting reports.
• Develops and delivers educational training to company project members regarding risk management procedures and policies.
